Great Yarmouth is a resort town on the east coast of England. Boasting 15 miles of superb golden beaches, 21 miles of Norfolk Broads, meandering rivers dotted with windmills, 8 museums, a medieval town wall and over 60 tourist attractions

Great Yarmouth Borough Council were looking for Collaborative to be creative and inventive in producing an exciting, engaging and accessible holidays and short breaks brochure for 2019. 

They wanted us to come up with original and imaginative ideas, to attract and excite their target audience and visually depict all the great things that Great Yarmouth has to offer and ensure it is promoted effectively as a great tourism destination. 

The cover was produced in bright pink, ensuring it stood out from the other brochures in the tourism racks and featured a large ‘G’ and ‘Y’ cut out which incorporated aspirational photography of a family enjoying the beach. We also drew various illustrative icons, which were added around the letters to further represent the diversity of entertainment and activities on offer in Great Yarmouth.

The main internal pages utilise a flexible grid system allowing for the use of different size and quantities of photographs. This ensures that the design is easily adaptable from page to page without losing any consistency or cohesion between the pages.

The spreads are designed to seamlessly combine the mixture of photography alongside the editorial copy to give a more interesting combination between creating impactful and interesting pages, whilst still being informative and accessible to readers. 

A combination of complimentary bright and bold colours were chosen to not only enhance and strengthen the content, but also to aid with accessibility when navigating through the information, by creating colour coded sections.
